Amref Health Africa Internship Position
Data Management and Reporting Intern
The Data Management and Reporting Intern will support Amref Health Africa’s data processes. The purpose of the position is to ensure that all required data is available for analytics and reporting.
The role also involves maintaining data quality assurance processes, supporting data visualization needs, and contributing to improvements in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning systems.
The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and employees work in a hybrid mode. The duration of the internship is 6 Months.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Data Management and Reporting Intern will have responsibilities divided between MEL data processes and data quality assurance processes.
MEL Data Processes in AIMS & Qlik [50%]
The intern will support the process of fetching, sorting, ordering, and organizing data as required for both regular and ad hoc reports.
The role will also involve participating in discussions with users to gather data visualization requirements. This includes ensuring clear communication and tracking specific assignments.
The intern will monitor progress until visualization tasks are completed and thoroughly tested for accuracy and usability. They will also assist in testing data matches and logic for new or updated dashboard solutions.
These activities are intended to ensure that the data presented aligns with the organization’s reporting needs and standards.
Data Quality Assurance (DQA) Processes [50%]
The intern will conduct and execute DQA validation checks inbuilt in AIMS and Qlik systems. These checks are intended to ensure that data is accurate and reliable for reporting.
Another responsibility is updating the DQA issue log biweekly, providing key insights and follow-up actions for Corporate MEL focal points.
The intern will track DQA performance regularly through Qlik and identify country-specific design and monitoring gaps. These gaps will be presented in MEL meetings to ensure timely action and program improvement.
The role also includes supporting the documentation of areas for improvement within DQA workflows and visualizations. This will help enhance user experience and streamline processes.
In addition, the intern will actively participate in Routine Data Quality Audits (RDQA) in collaboration with various implementing offices. This will involve supporting data validation and the integrity of monitoring processes.
Qualifications and Experience
